Princess Theatre

This short-lived theatre was apparently located in an old two story brick fronted stone building, located in the original center of town, facing a plaza formed by the intersection of Union Street and Maple Street. This building was constructed sometime before 1885, and held the Chamber of Commerce in 1913.

The theatre is listed in the 1914-15 AMPD. It did not last long, as the 1923 map shows this building used by an auto dealer.

This building was demolished many years ago, and indeed, Union Street no longer runs through this block. The building (the third door north of Ninth Street) was located somewhere about the northern half of the ugly little law office facing the plaza today.
